DVD with VCD quality

I used to think that DVD is always DVD. DVD can play the picture with better resolution and the screen is clearer and sharp as compare to VCD. Although there is so called normal DVD and DVD9 in the night market, but it is just look like the same when we play with our TV.
After we have the LCD TV, I m so eager to try how clear and how sharp of the picture is. So, I t ook out the DVD to play and the result is really s*cks! It was like playing the VCD. Ok, I go to dig out the original DVD to try. WOW, it is so clear n sharp!!
OK, meaning the DVD we bought from the night market is actually the converted version of VCD, they convert the VCD to DVD, so the picture quality of the ‘DVD’ is actually the quality of VCD.
